This video encapsulates some of the most important people in my life, obviously, a lot of people who I hold dear to my heart aren't included unfortunately because I don't have good pictures with them. This was a grueling yet heartwarming process for me because it brought joy to my heart and reminded how incredibly important it is to have people, even a few who really love you. For the "house music" era, I think David Guetta should be on that list. I say this for one because he is a DJ and two not only is he a DJ that creates sick beats/sounds but he allows other mainstream artists to use his pieces. An example of a beat he allowed an artist to sing on was on the song "Titanium" ft. Sia from 2011. This song is definitely, for lack of a better word, "housy". For the girl power era, generally, I wouldve picked a generic choice, Beyonce buttt im daring to stand out. I'm going with Rachel Platen for sure and some Demi Lovato, they both are incredibly talented artists with a strong female following and even stronger message to back that up. They are both women who have been through a lot of things in their lives and still choose to be unapologetically themselves. This is an odd question. What if or is the world a simulation?? I don't think the world is a simulation at all. I think we control our own movements and behavior and this all isn't some kind of game. Now if the world were a simulation, that'd be very creepy in my opinion. The idea of someone/something controlling me and dictating my every move doesn't sit right with me. I understand all the robots and new technologies arising but it still isn't factual to believe that the world is simulated. In the future, we as humans may be overthrown by robots and new technology that WE have created. I think that we have gone so deep in this thing called technology that we have to keep going, there's no going back now.

Yes, art can be created with technology. I think technology is changing the way art is made as the years go by and has been doing so for quite a bit of time now. Over the past few decades, art and technology have definitely become more intertwined, hence this class, art, and tech. Technology has allowed artists to involve more human interaction in their work, mix different type of media and come up with more complex pieces. An example of this in modern technology or artwork would be videos. The use of technology, like phones and cameras, have allowed us to create art in the form of videos and short films and movies. The camera has evolved so much that now videos, even ones that are just casually made can be judged as artwork, some artists specifically focus on the filming and creating of videos as their expertise. Alotofthese types of artists would be online, like Instagram. So yes, art can certainly be created with technology.

I think a technological advance in the 21 st century has to be the camera. We have always had cameras back in the day but as the decades and years go by many advances are made. We’ve gone from the pinhole   Camera in the 1500s to t he Daguerreotype   Camera in 1839 to the  Reise   Camera in 1900 to the Leica I in 1925to the Polaroid Model 95 in 1947 to the Kodak Digital   Camera in 1975 to the Fuji Quick Snap-in 1986   to the Sharp J-SH04 in 2000 to the Apple iPhone in 2007 to the GoPro HD Hero 2008.  We have evolved so much throughout the years and in the next few years, I see a major difference in the functions provided by a future camera. This is my grid art, it is a rose and I specifically picked a rose because my name is Blossom. I actually thought this was fun and interesting, I have never done anything like this and I enjoyed it. Even though it seemed a little confusing at first when I started it, I got the hang of it. I look forward to creating more art in the future!

This song is my alarm and my daily anthem. It is so motivational in its own non-traditional way. Again, this song talks about seizing the moment and using your resources to make your situation the best. Eminem talks about losing yourself in the "music" and the moment, which translates in my opinion as living in the "now" and instead of worrying too much about the future, we should focus on the present and how we can best make our current situation the best. The lyrics from the entire song truly resonate with me, I always try to work with what I have and see the best in whatever position I find myself. It does get tough at times obviously because I am human and there are days when I don't even feel motivated to do anything and I am not well prepared for the obstacles life throws my way. It is sort of a reminder that there could be worst things going on, I know that totally sounds like a cliche but I promise if you have that kind of outlook on negative situations,

WOW, just WOW! I discovered this song when I was about 12 years old and I fell right in love. Sam Cooke's voice plus the lyrics and the meaning behind this song is truly an astounding combination. This song talks about the Oppression of black individuals, the wars going on in the middle east, the Apartheid and the suffering of all people all over the world. There are pictures of Great leaders like Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela, and I think this is a special way to project emotion onto the audience, to allow us to feel the hurt and the loss of these individuals. I watched the most recent music video of the song but the lyrics are the exact same, the song is a national and global treasure. All the videos and pictures of people facing heartache are so relatable because these things still go on today just in a different way . As we all know Whitney Houston was a legend and still remains one till this day. It was tough picking a song by her because every single one of her songs is out of this world. She is talented beyond measure and she sings with such passion and makes it look so effortless. I picked this particular song because it relates to my current situation and a lot of my fellow students/peers. I say this because as first-year college students, we are taking a leap of faith and trusting ourselves to be responsible enough to achieve our dreams and make sure we still have the best four years of our lives. I'll be honest, it can be daunting at times because being away from home can truly test ones integrity and resilience. When something gets tough we truly have to deal with it ourselves, we can call our parents but they can only do so much. While watching the video on opera I learned that Opera didn't emerge gradually into the public like other genres did, it surfaced "explosively" onto the entertainment scene. The part in the video where the custodian was singing just showed how powerful the sound system really is in that theatre, he didn't even have a microphone or any type of sound enhancing system, but his voice illuminated throughout the theatre. Opera really did bring hundreds of thousands of people together, 10,000 per night be exact. There was so much effort put into their daily performances at the Arena. I also learned that Opera is a huge deal in Italy and came to be an estimated 300 years ago. I found it really cool that he (Howard Goodall) was able to go to some of the famous people's (Camerata) houses who first talked about Opera in the city of Florence.        This kind of opera is different from what was displayed played in the animated version of “Madama Butterfly”. It wasn’t as appealing to me, it was still enjoyable just not as much as I enjoyed the animated video. I feel like Opera is for older, more seasoned folks and I’m nowhere near that. If this was played or acted out in a theatre today, I think a lot of people would freak over it in a great way. They are awesome singers.        The acting was a little tricky and different but that is expected because people have gotten a lot better at acting over time. There is an expected audience for everything, but I doubt I’m a part of that audience for now, unfortunately. Maybe when I am older it will be more appealing to me. I do find it incredibly amazing that people can sing like that and extend their voices to such great heights. I’m a singer myself so I know how unbelievably tough it is to even be able to get to half of that range.

This video was quite a watch; it was funny, it was raunchy, it was odd, and I actually found it funny in the beginning. With all these characteristics integrated, the video was still able to convey different emotions very well. Before this video, I wasn’t really interested neither did I care for opera, but after, I’m truly captivated. The video was impressively creative, to say the least. This is not some kind of video you think about out of the blue, it took a special kind of person to create this. It is an animation, yes, but it’s unlike one I’ve ever seen before. I was able to feel bad for her when her husband left her to go on his initial trip, I actually felt emotional when she gave birth without any assistance and I equally felt emotion when her “husband” returned and took their child away from her. Then when he ripped the “umbilical cord” in two, I was torn apart. And the background music of the opera singer adds to the emotion the audience perceives to a great extent.  B

       In the interview with Raul Cuero, he states multiple times that he was discriminated against and faced a lot of adversities in his life. At one point, he also stated that he felt like he had no value once he stepped off the basketball court. With all these things he went through and all these thoughts, he made the choice to overcome them and work 10x harder because he wanted to be important off the basketball court some day. He wanted to be celebrated and used all of what we may consider as "negative' to aim higher and work harder.        This interview with Raul Cuero speaks on topics that I believe are still prevalent today and may be relatable to some of today's youth. For instance, students who get recruited to D1 schools for various sports are only nurtured in those sports with little consideration given to their success in the classroom. I've been interested in the medical field for as long as I can remember and I chose the field of dentistry particularly because Dentists have an immediate impact on their patients and I personally have had the first-hand experience on that because I had issues with my teeth from a young age. Most people are so scared of going to a dentist's office but I love it because whenever I'm there they take care of whatever problem I come in with immediately. I have interned for an oral surgeon for the past two summers and its augmented my interest in the field so much further.
